Winter is a time to get cosy  but often I find myself gravitating to browns, greys and blacks, which tend to end up making me feel drab after a while. A way I've found to spice up those warm tones is to add in black and white stripes! This black and white striped sweater from Joe Fresh is my new favourite go to! And the beige one is on my wish list... it comes in 7 different colours and both options are only $19!!

Touché Bouclé !

Oh bouclé  ... I so thought I'd seen the last of you. 8 years ago, I had my very talented Auntie sew me a frayed bouclé  jacket. It was a pretty messy undertaking... she had pink fibers all over her house. Unfortunately, the trend passed very quickly after she'd finished it, and I didn't get many chances to wear it. Fortunately I saved it and the trend is back!

I recently found this picture on Pinterest and I admit it's caused me a bit of a frantic obsession! My biggest pet peave is when Pinterest items don't have a link to find where to purchase the item!

I'm SO in love with this look that I found on Pinterest that I had to hunt it down!

Somehow every time I obsess about something...search for it...attain and adore it... I suddenly see it EVERYWHERE... therefore ruining my excitement about owning one. This happened with my owl necklace... my backless shirt... my sequined miniskirt. So I figured, maybe I have fashion physic abilities? No, not really... if I did I'd be a designer and making millions. So what am I obsessing about right now? Fisherman sweaters. Yup... somehow I feel the old ugly sweater your grandma knitted you is going to make a reappearance....

Some Days You Just Don't Wanna...

If you've read my blog you've all heard my motto "Life's Too Short Not To Sparkle Every Day". But sometimes we need footnotes...so consider this my footnote to my motto. Some day's you just don't want to sparkle...sometimes you want to sink into the woodwork and become invisible. Those are the moments you dig to the back of your closet for your favourite old black sweater.

 Loved and worn and so darn comfortable, when you put it on it feels like a hug from a long lost friend. Well let me tell you something...when you are comfortable...you sparkle! So even in those moments...with your coffee in hand and your old faithful sweater on, you are beautiful! Don't let anyone hide your light!

p.s. I do realize it's plus 30 outside today and I'm talking about sweaters...but I LOVE fall fashion... and I can hardly wait!!

In a new series...I've decided to answer questions that are sent to me as I'm sure many of you have the same questions! So today's question comes from my stylish friend Romina... "Can I wear colored jeans, or am I too old?" I get this type of question all the time..."Can I wear long hair at my age?, "At what age do I have to start wearing only long skirts?" And my answer is always "I hate numbers!" I refuse to define people by the number inside their shirt or the numbers on their birth certificate! If you can rock it, then ROCK IT!
Trends transcend numbers, but there are rules in different age categories to making it work for you.

Your 20's is your chance to try anything once (in fashion that is!)... If you like it try it! Be bold!

Colored Jeans in your Mids's - Let Loose!

To wear the colored denim look in your 30's and 40's look for a straight fit rather than a "jegging" or super skinny fit. Let loose and have fun! Pair with a blazer for a more refined polished look. And adding a wedge or a flat is a perfect pairing!

Colored Denim in your Later's - Color it Classy!

In your 50's and beyond, you've earned the right to be respected and that is the way to pull together your "look". Those trends can still find their way to your closet, just color it classy!

I Am Blank Because...

A bunch of other bloggers I follow are doing this... so I'm jumping on the bandwagon cuz it looks fun. And it's a great way to start the year!

I am WEIRD because...
I scratch the roof of my mouth with my tongue...a lot.
I won't pull my kids wiggly teeth, but I'm not scared of mice or spiders.
I love dressing up real people, but hate playing barbies. 
I love being on TV.
It's difficult to embarrass me.

I am a BAD FRIEND because....
I rarely return phone calls due to the fact that I dislike being on the phone.
I am very very forgetful...which includes birthday dates.
I am too busy.
I often interrupt during conversations.



I am a GOOD FRIEND because...
I'm really good at keeping secrets.
I love to make my friends feel good about themselves.
I'm very real and open about my struggles and failings.
I don't hold grudges. (very often)






I am SAD because...
I'd like to spend more time with my husband.
I wish I was better at playing with my kids.
I have had to say goodbye to people that I didn't want to.
I can't seem to figure out how to make my passion into a full time job.
People I love are hurting in their marriages and relationships and I can't fix it.


I am HAPPY because...
I have the best husband and kids in the world. (seriously...check Guinness World Records) 
I LOVE my job.
My family's home is wrapped in love and built on a foundation of faith with God at the center.
I have friendships that will last a lifetime.





I am EXCITED for... 
The moment everyone realizes the world didn't end this year.
My 2012 photo folder to fill up with memories.

Baseball Season.
